There are great itineraries. There are ‘capital’ itineraries (as the British would say). Then there are great ‘capital’ itineraries. Those with a taste for wordplay can think of this journey as capital because it’s first-rate or because it highlights the capital cities of the Baltic States. This itinerary not only includes a generous amount of time in historic Baltic capitals, but also a stay in Kaliningrad, the capital of Russia’s smallest oblast (region) of the same name. Because Kaliningrad is located near the Baltic capitals of Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius, we’ve included this little piece of Russia in the tour. Well-traveled Nomads will be interested to know that Kaliningrad, located 200 miles from the border of Russia proper, is a part of Russia the Club hasn’t visited before.
